- PEPPERMINT SODA -
CAPLDN’S fourth campaign is refreshing and summer-cooling just like its peppermint namesake. Inspired by the 70’s French film ‘Diabolo Menthe’ or ‘Peppermint Soda’ (in case you don’t speak Francais).
A seasonal concoction signifying childhood memories which sparks nostalgia with naturalistic vignettes and common emotional notes such as resignation and rebellion.
From a female-focused film celebrating feminine energy comes a sustainably made campaign for ethically minded bohemians. The white hemp fabric used in the campaign has been inspired by classroom scenes that see all girls dressed in the same white coats.
Each garment has been carefully designed, cut and sewn in the CAPLDN in-house atelier with all garments produced from one piece of hemp fabric to eliminate any waste. Clean oversized designs are versatile, suiting many body types, and affording the options to play with how the garment is worn and positioned.
Hemp was chosen for its many sustainable and environmental benefits. The hemp plant eliminates the need for pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and requires less water than most other fiber crops. Hemp absorbs carbon dioxide making it a carbon-negative crop and due to its resilience is seen as a natural way to combat soil pollution. Hemp is a valuable resource with over 5,000 uses and as each part of the plant is utilised there is next to no plant waste.
